This Janmashtami, we imagined the spirit of Govinda and Dahi Handi traveling far beyond its traditional streets — all the way to London.
Against the backdrop of Big Ben, a human pyramid rises toward the handi, celebrating the courage to climb, the strength to support one another, and the joy of reaching the top together.
And when the handi finally breaks, the celebration takes a little Mirani twist.
Instead of an ordinary shower, gold coins, sparkling diamond hoop earrings and rings descend among marigold petals and golden light — a playful symbol of abundance, prosperity and the success of Indians around the world.
The setting may change. The celebration may evolve. But the spirit remains timeless.
The spirit is timeless.
The celebration has gone global.
