Mother Teresa on Love

We  have  to  love  until  it  hurts .  It's  not  enough  to  say  "I  love".
We  must  put  that  love  into  a  living  action and  that  can  only  be  done  by giving  until  it  hurts.
True  love  causes  pain .  A mother, while  giving  birth  to  her  baby ,  has to  suffer.  When  we  really  love  someone,  we  will make sacrifices  for  them.   Love, in  order  to  survive, must  be  nourished  by  sacrifices ,  especially  sacrifice  of  the  self . 
True  love  is  love  that  causes  us  pain  which  hurts  and  yet  it  brings  us  joy.  That's  why  we must pray and ask for courage  to  love.

We must give what will cost us something. This, then is giving,
not just what we can live without but what we cannot live without or we don't want to live without, something we really like.
Then our gift becomes a sacrifice, which will have value before God.

Accept the gifts of God and be deeply grateful. If He has given you great wealth, make good use of it, try to share it with others, with those who do not have anything.
Always share with others because even with a little help you may save them from becoming distressed.
And do not take more than you need, that's all. Just accept whatever comes.

Mother Teresa was asked if she read books and works of saints

She replied: I find that God teaches us all we need to learn through our actions and our work.
But really I do not need to read many books now because constantly I am being taught by others.
The AIDS patient I work with are the modern saints, the new saints of the church.
As they grew in Jesus, their last days, hours and moments were so beautiful that for me theirs are the stories of the saints.

We don't judge people for whatever situation they are in, because all they want is someone to love and care and they are satisfied.

Mother Teresa said "I fear just one thing: money! Greed - the love of money"

When Mother has a real problem: like finding a roof for lepers, a home for children(1), she goes to ask. And for every big donation of money she always has an immediate application in building a home, a hospital, a shelter... But never Mother Teresa does fund raising. The sisters know it very well: when there is no food, a need for a bigger place or need for money to be able to build or buy a house for the poor, Mother invites all the sisters to pray and often organizes adoration to put the matter in Gods'Hands. A beautiful example of this can be seen in one of the videos on Mother (by An and Jeannet Petrie).

At the same time Mother is scrupulously looking and checking how every single penny in a convent is spent. The sisters have to answer this every time she comes to visit. Every cent is a gift for the poor.
Mother herself believes that she will have to answer to Jesus for every single penny people gave her, for every word she spoke, for every act she put. Because she wants her surrender to God, her trust in Him and her love for Him, so pure, so perfect, so beautiful... There should not be a spot, a hidden gesture, a wasted minute, a spoiled penny... Only when we can imagine a love so deep and honest, a devotion so pure, we can understand how deeply Mother was involved to a good use of the money people gave her.
When we read this words of her, we can understand better maybe:

"I fear just one thing: money! Greed - the love of money - was what motivated Judas to sell Jesus." (M. Teresa)

Your Grace,

The longing to give all to our Lord and make many souls do the same remains the same.

I am aware that if the work begins than there will be plenty of loneliness, suffering & humiliations for me.

I have been burning with longing to love Him as He as never been loved before.

Please excuse this paper as I have no other kind. I am practicing Franciscan poverty.
It is lovely to be poor and to be free from so many things.
