Cooking Quinoa

Uncooked Quinoa

On Stove
One cup Quinoa (250 ml)
Two Cups Water (500 ml)
(2:1 is the normal ratio, i:e Water should be twice the quinoa)
Combine them in a saucepan.
Let it boil, thereafter lower the heat, cover it up and let it cook for about 15 minutes.
Once Quinoa is soft and tender.
Quinoa is cooked when the center of the seed is no longer white and it is translucent (as shown in picture below)
In the bottom of the sauce pan, ensure there is no water. If there is any water, then cover the sauce pan and allow the Quinoa to sit for about 5 minutes or until water has been absorbed. (However take it off the heat). Remove the lid and fluff with a fork or spoon.

You can also cook it in rice cooker.
